A farm-to-table restaurant in Milas, Muğla, serving dishes built around its own organic-certified cold-pressed olive oil, produced at the foot of Mount Latmos.

About The Venue

Overview

Milas is a district of Muğla province, known in antiquity as Mylasa, one of the significant cities of the ancient region of Caria, and known today for its olive and olive-oil production. In Milas's Selimiye neighbourhood, Agora Gurme runs as a restaurant built around its own olive oil. Its own promotional text describes production taking place among 550-million-year-old rock formations, at the foot of Mount Latmos (Beşparmak), home to century-old olive trees, in a region free of agricultural pesticides; in 2015 it was recognised as an organic producer under a regional certification from the then Ministry of Economy. The olive oil is made by cold-pressing and centrifuging, a method aimed at preserving aroma, nutritional value and polyphenol content. The site carries a separate 'Lokanta' (Restaurant) tab; since it does not publish an itemised menu or prices in enough detail to record here, the product range is limited to the general description of a restaurant built around its own olive oil.
