Sapanca Gözleme Evi

Sapanca sits on the western edge of Sakarya province, with a population of 44,712 as of 2022; the site is first recorded as a settlement when the Phrygians arrived around 1200 BC, and it was properly founded by the Kingdom of Bithynia in 378 BC. Evliya Çelebi, passing through on his way to Erzurum in 1640, left notes on the town. Today, its position on the shore of Lake Sapanca makes it a weekend destination for visitors from Istanbul and the surrounding provinces.
