According to Nur Pastaneleri's own account, the brand's story began in 1955 in Antalya's Korkuteli district, where snow brought down from the Bey Mountains in winter was stored in pits and turned into a distinctive snow-based ice cream. The brand moved into confectionery in 1965 and has since grown into a wide range spanning syrup-based sweets, fresh cream cakes and baked goods. Marketed under the slogan "Flavour That Travels From the Palate to the Heart," its offerings include bowl cakes, yeasted pastries and börek, baklava and kadayıf varieties, syrup sweets such as şekerpare, tulumba and lokma, plus chocolate, fruit and pistachio fresh cream cakes. The Elmalı branch sits in Gündoğan Mahallesi, inside a municipal business arcade. Elmalı is an inland Antalya district in the Taurus foothills, away from the coast, known for agriculture and livestock farming; the brand's presence in this inland district neighbouring its birthplace of Korkuteli shows Nur Pastaneleri is established beyond the touristic coastline, in Antalya's interior as well.
