The Çukurova branch of Kahramanmaraş-rooted national ice cream chain MADO serves traditional Maraş-style ice cream and desserts on Turgut Özal Boulevard in Adana.
MADO is one of Turkey's best-known ice cream chains, and its roots trace back to the mountain city of Kahramanmaraş. According to the company's own history page, the story begins with "karsambaç," a chilled treat once made by mixing snow gathered from the caves of Ahir Dağı with molasses and fruit syrup; over the generations, the addition of milk, honey and salep turned this street treat into what is known today as Maraş-style ice cream. The Kanbur family, descendants of a craftsman remembered as Osman Ağa, carried the trade forward, and in 1980 opened Yaşar Pastanesi on Trabzon Caddesi in Kahramanmaraş — the shop that marked the turning point toward today's national MADO network. The brand now operates a large number of branches across Turkey. One of its Adana locations sits in the Çukurova district, on Turgut Özal Boulevard in the Güzelyalı neighbourhood, opposite the Ramazanoğlu Mosque, in the A Block entrance of Fazilet Apartments. From this address, the branch brings the chain's Maraş-origin ice cream and traditional dessert range to customers in Çukurova.
