LokmAntep

The name is a pun. Antep is the short form of Gaziantep, and lokma is the fritter — dough dropped into hot oil, then into syrup — that Turkey knows both from dessert counters and from memorial charity tables. LokmAntep, on Adnan İnanıcı Caddesi in the Batıkent neighbourhood of Şehitkamil, takes that single traditional sweet as its starting point and then ranges well past it. Its own listing names cakes, cheesecake, chocolate, churros, crêpes, ice cream, waffles, tiramisu, pastry and fondue, with coffee, tea and fresh juice alongside. What the name promises as heritage, the counter delivers as a broad contemporary dessert café. The hours follow suit: open every day from ten in the morning until one the following morning, a closing time set by the after-dinner sweet rather than by the meal. Guests may sit inside or out; the venue reports a heated terrace for the cold months and air conditioning for the heat, along with step-free access, free parking, free Wi-Fi and a welcome for pets.
