A private study library on the second floor of a Şahinbey office block, where a quiet desk comes with coffee and tea service.

About The Venue

Overview

Celsus Kütüphane describes itself, in its own words, as one of Gaziantep's private libraries — a study space first and a café second. It sits on the second floor of C Block in the Teymur İş Merkezi, an office building on Adnan Menderes Boulevard in Şahinbey. The upstairs address is part of the concept: no shopfront, no passing trade, just a floor you climb to and settle into. The name borrows from the Library of Celsus at Ephesus, the Roman ruin whose façade is among the most photographed in Turkey and whose name is often lent to reading rooms. What it serves is deliberately narrow. Its structured listing covers coffee and tea, supplemented by a buffet of snacks and sweet things — enough to keep someone at a desk, not enough to constitute a meal out. The venue reports air conditioning, outdoor seating, a separate smoking area and free Wi-Fi. A place can be booked ahead by phone or email, takeaway is available, and payment may be made in cash, by transfer or by card. Neither prices nor any membership terms are published.
